AAMN Member is Awarded a Rue Scholarship

Wednesday, July 01, 2009

The AAMN has selected one of its members as the 2008 scholarship recipient for all study materials toward an Associate in Nursing Degree. Bill Gilmore from Mobile, Alabama was awarded the Rue Education scholarship.

The scholarship includes study materials for all examinations needed to earn a distance learning Associate in Nursing Degree from Excelsior College.

Excelsior College has received the NLN Center of Excellence Award for several years. The college has one of the largest ADN programs in the country. Excelsior was designated a Center of Excellence in Nursing Education 2005-2008 and redesignated in 2008-2011.

Rue Education has been developing comprehensive learning systems so nursing students can earn college credit by examination. For many nursing students, earning credits, while studying at their own pace without being on campus, allows them freedom at work and in their personal lives, and they can save money, too.

Nursing students interested in receiving the 2009 award have until September 10th to submit a 500 word essay that addresses; financial need, level of existing education, experience working in the healthcare field including a paragraph dedicated to why they want to become a registered nurse.

Electronic submissions should be sent to AAMN Executive Director at aamn@aamn.org by September 10th.

AAMN would like to thank Rue Education for the opportunity to offer this scholarship opportunity.

AAMN has named Rue Education as the preferred provider of independent study materials for nurses who wish to earn college level credits through national standardized examination programs.
