Rue Education Partners with Pearson Learning Solutions to Customize Textbooks for Distance Learning Nursing Students

Rue Education (www.rueeducation.com), the country’s largest provider of distance learning systems for nurses, has formed a unique relationship with Pearson Learning Solutions, the educational consultancy for the world’s largest educational publisher, to develop customized textbooks and digital content for Rue’s online learning system.
“We have recently made a number of industry first-advances in our online learning systems and tutor-led content,” says David Hopkins, Ph.D., chief learning officer of Rue Education. “The partnership with Pearson allows us to provide the best possible blended learning options for nurses wishing to further their careers.”
Rue Education and Pearson Learning Solutions formed the new agreement after a successful, decade-long relationship in which Pearson published many of Rue’s nursing and general education textbooks. Under the new agreement, Pearson will give Rue access to intellectual property, in both digital and printed form from multiple Pearson textbooks, and integrate it with Rue’s existing content.
“Shifting the responsibility for content generation to Pearson will allow Rue to devote more resources to support services such as academic advising, tutoring and financial aid,” added Hopkins. “This new relationship has Pearson integrating our content into their materials for a best-of-breed approach to distance learning and credit by examination.”
Together, Rue Education and Pearson Learning Solutions will develop customized curricula designed for adult learners who often lack the time and financial resources for traditional campus programs and are looking for more flexible education options to advance their nursing careers.
