October 7, 2012 - John Morrison
Doing well with Rue. Passed my first exam about a month ago. On my way with the next class. Hopefully will do just as well or better on the next one.

August 15, 2012 - Diana Proctor
I work with two RNs that have gotten their RN thru RUE and loved it!

August 7, 2012 - Erica Lomax RT
I am looking forward to starting the nursing program, I am currently a respiratory therapist and I love what I do, I just have always wanted to go back and get my RN. I never thought that would happen because I need to work full time to help support my family, but with Rue Education, it has opened up a door I never thought was possible and I am so thankful and can't wait to get started on my new career. Thanks Rue for giving me this oppurtunity.

July 8, 2012 - Sandra H. Thompson LPN, Butner, NC
I am finally a GN! I completed the CPNE in June 2012. I'm so grateful that Rue was available to help me reach my goal of becoming an RN. I've been an LPN for 8 years working as a correctional nurse. Being able to study at my own pace was a big help and the best part is I don't have any student loans to keep paying!

May 11, 2012 - Tammie Waggoner Smith
I have taken Ethics, Micro, and Health and Safety with Rue. Now I have been excepted by Excelcior College and taking my second nursing core class with the help of Rue on line classes!! While working full time! Thankyou for helping me make my dreams a reality!

April 12, 2012 - Edward Erickson
Passed my second EC exam with Rue! Two B's so far!

January 18, 2012 - Vivian McGuire
The Rue system is super supportive as well as informative...there is no better way to continue your education when you are bogged with a job and other responsibilities....the program is also structured enough to keep you on course.

November 1, 2011 - MaryAnn Palermo
I passed Microbiology today with a "B"! :)

September 26, 2011 - Juli Boaz Karr
Oh Rue I ♥ you...you keep me focused and right on track for my BSN and give me eveything I need to succeed♥

March 28, 2011 - Rebecca Lewis LPN, Susquehanna, PA
I just wanted you to know I passed my CPNE this weekend!  I am so grateful to RUE for all of the learning systems for my previous courses. RUE was so concise with giving me exactly what I needed to pass all of my exams, I can't praise it enough.  Again, thank you.

July 28, 2010 - Shirley Beck LPN
This program has helped me to complete all of my nursing testing.  I have been able to do this at my own pace and on my own. I would have never have gotten this far without this program. I only have to complete my A&P and my clincals to graduate the RN program. I am so excited to have gotten this far and know that soon I will be finished.

The great thing about this program is that it can work for anyone.  It can work if you're young or if you're older and going back to school. It can work for you if you are working part time or full time because you can work on this at your own pace.  I have used the mentoring site a lot it has helped me so much and kept me motivated and on tract. You can talk to other people who are going through the same things you are. It really helps. I would recommend this program to anyone who is wanting to bridge over to their RN.

July 27, 2010 - Sarah Cowdin LPN, Fort Myers, Florida

By the time I graduated from LPN school in 2005, I knew that I wanted to go back to school to become an RN. I was pregnant with my first child at the time, so I also knew it would have to wait. After waiting 2 years and having our second child I realized that if I let it "life" would always stop me from acheiving my goal of becoming an RN. Besides being a mother to 2 small children and a wife I also work in an Operating Room on a very busy Open Heart Team. I knew that with my home schedule and my work schedule I had to find an unconventional nursing program. I found Rue's website and called immediately to get details. I was sold and signed up the next day. That was almost 2 years ago and even though it's been a slow process, I am begining to see light at the end of the tunnel. I have 4 nursing exams left and I have gotten mostly A's with a couple of B's. Rue's learning systems as well as my cheerleader/advisor, Karen Brickey, have helped me every step of the way and I'm sure that will continue.
Making that call 2 years ago was one of the best decisions that I've ever made. Thanks Rue!

July 27, 2010 - Diana Melnick Paramedic, Schertz, Texas
I am a current paramedic working toward an RN degree. I haven’t been a student for over 15 years. I was determined one way or another I was going to get it. With my work schedule it just wasn’t possible to achieve it traditionally. I tried the College Network like so many of my co-workers were doing, but unfortunately I need more structure and browsed the net and low and behold there was Rue. I took a class to test the waters because I didn’t want to make another expensive mistake(which I am still paying for like college network). Guess what You’re right, I chose Rue and I am on my way. I am on my 3rd class and I am a horrible test taker and Karen Brickey has managed to ease that a little for me. I think choosing Rue has been one of my better decisions made outside of continuing my education. Not to mention the positive influence it has made for my children to continue theres.

July 26, 2010 - Rick Schuster Paramedic, Henderson, Nevada
I have been a Paramedic for 6 years. I am now a Flight Paramedic. Being at, what I feel to be, the pinnacle of this career, I feel there is more I should do. With help from Rue, I have started on this path on the right foot. I knocked out the first two tests within 6 weeks and I have my 3rd test scheduled three weeks form today. Rue has minimized the monotony and focuses the knowledge I need to acquire to become the nurse I want to be. I am so excited to finish the program and embark on a whole new journey of Emergency Medicine, this time with only two letters next to my name.

July 16, 2010 - Julia Stevenson Staggs LPN, West Monroe, Louisiana
I started out in the medical field as a dental assistant. I then went on to become an orthodontic assistant. I eventually realized that I no longer wanted to work in those fields and I became the hospital financial counselor for a local hospital. I truly loved visiting with the patients and helping them out in some of their weakest moments, even if it was only helping with financial matters. While working in this position, I quickly realized what my true calling was, I wanted to be a nurse. I wanted to be able to help these people get well.

So there I was, 26 years old and only a few college classes under my belt. I weighed all options and had to figure out which route would be best for me. I chose to enroll in a local LPN program and I graduated on December 12, 2009. I was four months pregnant with our first baby and I was not sure if I wanted to jump right back into school with a little one on the way. That is when one of my instructors from the LPN program told me how she obtained her RN online. I was still hesitant to enroll, but then a friend from my LPN class called and told me that I should join. After discussing how the program worked, I was sold. As soon as I hung up with her, I called and enrolled.

So here I am, 28 years old and working on my RN. I'm so glad that I chose to take this route. Not only will I further my education, but I can also spend more time with our daughter.

June 29, 2010 - Rebecca Anderson LPN

I started out in nursing 38 years ago as an aide. I finally got my LPN via community college, and have managed to take a class here and a class there, but then when I wanted to really get busy and get into a nursing program all doors were shut to me unless I started from the bottom as if I had not taken any classes. I gave up trying for a few years when someone at work talked to me about Rue. They had just graduated and taken the NCLEX and starting out in their first job as an RN. I still thought at my age and starting over it would be too much. I called Rue anyway and found they would take my old classes, and suddenly felt like maybe I could do this. I started about year and half ago, with another year to go and I don’t feel older-just smarter! Since I am not going to a local college, I don’t feel ill at ease with the younger crowd, but can just concentrate on my studies. The Rue counselors have been extremely helpful along the way, helping to chose just what I need to take and do. I know that if I can do it at my age, anyone can do it. I may not have a lifetime career ahead of me, but I can make a difference in someone’s life still.

June 18, 2010 - Linda Wilson RN, Decatur, Alabama

I have been an LPN since 1989. I started with Rue several years ago to earn an RN degree. I had many obstacles during the time I began working towards that goal. My mother became very ill and passed away, I have had grandchildren born, my son started college......but I kept working slowly and steadily towards my goal. In November 2009, I passed the CPNE, graduated in January 2010 with my degree, and passed the NCLEX-RN on the first try in April 2010. Finally, after several years of hard work....I am now an RN.

I could not have done it without the help of the Rue study systems. I also had many talks with my advisor, Jeff Cox, during this time. Jeff would encourage me and get me focused on my goal. After 22 years as an LPN, I am now an RN.
Believe me, if I can do it....you can, too. I did this at 47 years old with three children, three grandchildren, and a full time job.

Thanks so much, Rue. It was worth every penny!

June 17, 2010 - Tammie Kruse LPN, Unionville, MI
I just passed my Reproductive Health EC exam this week. If someone would have told me a couple of years ago that I would be achieving my dreams, I would have laughed at them. Thanks to Rue, I am finally realizing that my dream of becoming an RN is within my grasp and I am capable of more than I could have ever imagined. I look forward to the next class and I am ready for a new challenge! I feel like I have an angel on my shoulder. My advisor Erin is wonderful and encourages me every step of the way. Thank you Rue for helping people like me earn our degrees and succeed in our careers.

June 10, 2010 - Gwen Bolar RN, Tacoma, Washington
If it wasn't for Rue I wouldn't be an RN today. Rue kept me focused with their self-directed study courses. I must say I enjoyed the self-study process. I was working as a LPN at a local family practice clinic while studying for my RN. The staff at Rue was always so pleasant and encouraging. They are good listeners. After taking baby steps up the RN self-study ladder, passing the CPNE in Atlanta, then passing my Washington NCLEX state boards, I finally made it! It was not a easy task, but I realized if I were to study for my RN the traditional way, such as going to a local college, that wouldn't have been easy either. So I hung in there with Rue, and it paid off. I'm now a RN at a local hospital making more money and continuing to learn in my new profession. I'm glad I didn't give up. My advise to anyone benefiting from Rue is to not give up. Remember, baby steps will get you to your goal of being an RN.

June 7, 2010 - Kimberly Reichle Paramedic, Williamston, Michigan

I have been in EMS for 5 years now, and am currently working on getting Nursing School done. Last weekend I passed my first test, so I am on my way to success! My Academic Adviser has been so nice and very helpful.  I love that I can call just about anytime to get my questions answered. I also enjoy the extra help from sites like mentor connection. Rue does an excellent job making sure its students have all the material they need for success. Thanks Rue!

June 4, 2010 - Suzanne Zimmerman LPN, Chesterton, Indiana
My name is Suzanne Zimmerman, I'm 48 years old, and I've been an LPN since 1995. I'd just like to say after just passing my 3rd online class with Rue that I'm well on my way to obtaining my RN after all of these years. I've raised my 2 children to become happy adults and now I'm looking forward to completing my dreams of obtaining my RN. My academic advisor has been so nice and helpful. I'm looking forward to starting my 3rd class this July. I enjoy the freedom of movement and time that this type of learning has aloud me. Thank you, Rue!

June 2, 2010 - Eric Augustus Paramedic, Newberg, Oregon
My name is Eric Augustus, I'm 47 years old, and am a Paramedic in Oregon. I've been involved in EMS for 24 years, and a Paramedic for 13.  As I get older, it gets harder and harder to work the 24 & 48 hour shifts. I also find that my career options are extremely limited.  When I heard about Rue Education and their 'bridge' program towards an RN degree, I was apprehensive. I felt that with my crazy schedule and limited financial resources, I thought that it was beyond reach.  However, I found that I could work at my own pace, and with the loan that I was able to get from Rue, I realized that this dream could come true.  I tried the self-paced mode with my first class, Sociology, and found that it wasn't working. In four months, I'd only completed 7 chapters! With the assistance of Frances Lange, my advisor, I switched to the on-line, mediated mode and that has proved to be successful! I'm now finishing up my 3rd class, Anatomy & Physiology, and find it very doable, if not challenging.

The interaction with my fellow classmates & the instructor, plus the deadlines, make this learning experience workable and enjoyable for me. Not only will my new-found knowledge prove valuable when taking the NCLEX & in my nursing practice, it is already proving itself in my everyday Paramedic practice. I'm enjoying learning new skills & topics, plus reinforcing what I've already known for years. I can't wait to finish and obtain my RN degree, and put into practice what I've spent so much time and effort on. Thank you, Rue!

May 26, 2010 - Joanne Scarpinato LPN, West Babylon, New York
Hi, I'm a 48 year old woman who has been an LPN for 30 years. My dream was always to have RN after my name, that was my mothers dream as well, (she passed when I was 23). So life took over and my RN was at the bottom of the list for a long time. I've worked in many areas of nursing, my specialty was dialysis and with that type of specialty again I was satisfied. I tried to work and go to school part time it just didn't work for me.  I would leave my house at 4:30am and get home at 11pm and I just didn't have it in me to continue. However, with the economy being what it is right now, in NY as an RN my salary would just about double. Also I've been told that with my resume, all I need is RN after my name and I could have my pick.  So, scared, financially challenged, and feeling very alone in the world, my brother encouraged me to really look into it.  I did and here I am. I will be fifty years old when I'm done and I'm scared to death, but not anyone or anything can stop me now......Thanks Rue!

May 26, 2010 - Kelly Trammell LVN, Ft. Worth, Texas
I cannot even imagine going back to a college campus after going to classes through Rue . It would be such a culture shock.  I've been a LVN almost 11 years and because of my family situation and having to work full time to make ends meet, I didn't go back to school . I started with Excelsior college 5 years ago and have been through three curriculum companies and not one of them did what Rue online has done for me.  The classes are so motivating and fun and they keep you focused completely even if you're a bit distracted like me.  I finally can quit battling with bad curriculum companies and I'm getting my RN done!!! YEEHAW!!!  After I finish my RN, which I can finally see myself completing, I'm going to go for my bachelors . Thank you so much Rue!!!! I'm super impressed!! I'm super happy!!   Oh and I do have to mention I think my advisor Karen is awesome, she gets the job done!!!
Smile : ) it never hurts !

May 26, 2010 - Kelly Clark LPN, Middlefield, Ohio
I started with Rue Education before I had even passed my LPN state boards! I had submitted all the appropriate paperwork but anxiously awaited my testing date and the day I became an LPN. That day came very quickly and I became an LPN! I started my studies with much eagerness and anticipation.

I went to work at a nursing home all the while doing my studies on my own. I had all the encouragement I could get through the Mentor Connection and the awesome advisor employed by the staff at Rue: Sally and Frances just to name a couple! They have helped in more ways that I could ever imagine.

After struggling for 8 months with my first course, but passing it with a “B”, I decided I needed a more focused course of action so I signed up for the online courses. These classes are the best tool ever! I just cannot say enough about them. They keep you focused, on track and motivated to get through the material with an eye on the end goal: RN!!!!!

Rue has brought so much to my life. Let it turn your dream into a reality! Start with Rue today!

May 25, 2010 - William Blake RN, Ruthven, Iowa
I became a CNA in September 1986 during the recession of the 1980's.  While going to school to become a CNA, I met a RN at the hospital where I was training.  I admired her, one day I was going to become a RN........
I worked for five years as a CNA, got married and soon came three awesome children.  I was working at a facility in Waterloo and was asked to go to become a CMA, thats a Certified Medication Aide.  I completed this August 1991, passing the pills I went!
I met my best friend in 1994, he was going to Nursing School and encouraged me to do the same.  I enrolled for my LON in 1998, completed December 1998, passing my boards soon after.  Now I was giving shots.  Man did I feel important, but something was missing.
I got divorced in 2004 and was taking care of three children alone - one who was diagnosed with JRA in 2003.  I was working full time taking care of myself and the kids, going back to school was on my mind - but how?
I got a call from Anthony at Rue one day.  After talking to him on the phone I was thinking, "Man this sounds to good to be true."  I prayed about it, did some checking into Rue and climbed aboard.  I was getting My RN, and nothing was going to stop me!
I passed all my tests, my CPNE (the CPNE is like a state survey on steroids!) and my boards the first time thanks to who? Rue! Rue! Rue!

Life can be challenging and throw you curves sometimes, get back up and do it! I did it at age 43 and man it feels good to finally be a RN 23 years later! Thanks Rue.

May 25, 2010 - Jennifer Velasquez GN, Gainesville, Texas
I have just completed my ASN through Excelsior college using Rue! The study guides from Rue was what made the difference between passing and failing! I accomplished this degree while maintaining my full time job as a dialysis nurse and being the single mother of five young children!! I am so excited about taking by state boards next month!! Thanks Rue!

May 25, 2010 - Sue Coward RN, Steinhatchee, Florida
Since I was a little girl I had wanted to be a nurse. When I got married, 45 years ago, I had planned to go to nursing school. Well, that was cut short when I found out I was pregnant six months after I was married. So, years later (and six children), I tried to get into nursing school, but due to limited space I wasn’t able to get in. So I became a respiratory therapist and later a paramedic. But my heart still longed to become a nurse. When my youngest daughter started to college, I went back to college and became an LPN. However, that did not fulfill my true dream which was to be an RN. Since I had to drive 1 ½ hours to the college and 1 ½ hours back home every day five days a week, I didn’t fulfill my dream until I received the invitation from Rue in the mail (after throwing it away numerous times). I took the leap; and now, after many hours of studying as well as working five days a week, I am now an RN working in ICU/CCU. My dream finally fulfilled because Rue didn’t give up and kept sending me mail. Thank you Rue, for helping me accomplish my dreams at age 62.

May 23, 2010 - Jeff Wonderley LPN, Tulsa, Oklahoma
Thanks to Rue, I have completed yet another class! I had many doubts and fears about Reproductive Health! Being a male LPN, studying maternal female, newborns and postpartum was not my forte! I followed the program suggestions of studying, completed all assignments and used the studying notes on the website and passed the class and the final with a 'B'! I couldn't have been happier! I am more confident now with this field of study than I ever have been thanks to Rue and all of their advisors!

May 22, 2010 - Missy Knox LPN, Columbus, Ohio
I had tried independent study about 15 years ago and let it go, didn’t finish. With pressure at my job to obtain my RN and a wish to finally finish this, I found out that Rue now has the online study option.  I went for it. Now I’m working hard to obtain my goal of many years! Thanks to Rue, I have the help and motivation I need to keep it going, too. The online study is just what I needed; structured with a timeline and a way to gauge how I’m doing! I took the first exam, Intro. to Psychology, and got the equivalent of an A! Now I’m almost done with the second class and look forward to marching on to the next. Thanks, Rue!

May 21, 2010 - Mary Willets LPN, Whitehouse, Ohio
When I finally made up my mind to transition from LPN to RN, I did A LOT of online research. I work full time and contingent at another hospital, so I wanted to do this MY WAY!!! And Rue understood that and provided an avenue for which I am able to achieve my goals. Today I passed my first test and have Intro to Sociology under my belt in just 4 weeks! Like I said, I want to do it my way …. Which is at my pace and no delays or being forced to follow a structured classroom syllabus. I have support from real people and get experienced students and graduates to talk to about challenges. I works! And I’m doing it!!!

May 20, 2010 - Debbie Snyder LPN, Limestone, Pennsylvania
It has been a very long road indeed. I began my journey with Rue in 1995, then some unforeseen life events put a halt to my continuing education. Over the years, I contemplated starting up again but never could quite make it happen. About 2 years ago, I decided to finally make that committment. I took the Sociology and Psychology CLEP exams with the workbook preps only (no online program). I passed both of those and decided "this is possible." That lasted until I attempted to take the Microbiology course using the workbook and text only. I read and read and retained nothing. I was feeling defeated. My advisor (Jeff) was relentless! He introduced me to the online prep classes. Thank-you Jeff. If it wasn't for his dedication to my success I wouldn't be on my next to the last nursing class before getting ready to study for my CPNE! He encouraged me every step of the way. By taking the online prep classes I have been very successful with all the exams. I have taken a total of 11 exams with Rue prep materials in the last 2 years ... only a few more to go. It's exciting to know the end is so near! I will soon be 50 and I believe the second half of my life's journey is going to be more successful than the first, thanks to Rue!

May 10, 2010 - Sherry Chavis LPN, South Carolina
Thanks to Rue I have the ability to achieve my goal while keeping my wound care job that I actually love. Due to my job I have to work first shift. Going through Rue I can receive my RN while continuing to work and be the one there for my residents when they have skin problems. I hope to finish in as short a time as possible. Thanks Rue.

May 6, 2010 - Amy Parr LPN, Minnesota
Testing out is not an easy thing to do for most people. I took the Chronicity class through Rue last year. It took me quite a while to get things situated with Excelsior (nobody's fault, I did a payment plan and wanted it paid off before I incurred more debt). This May was when the test out window closed. I used the study guide and read through it all weekend long and I'm still shocked that I passed with a B! Most people prefer to dig out the nursing books and whatnot, but that is a lot of reading, and deciding what's important is nearly impossible. The workbooks are set up to tell you exactly what you need to know, and to be able to pass a test after a weekend of studying with just the workbook proves Rue knows what they are doing. I'm sure Rue wouldn't recommend doing just that, but it is possible ;-) Amy Parr, LPN Hermantown, MN.

March 3, 2010 - Molly Ray LVN, Texas
I am in the process of finishing my Mirco class. It has been an interesting journey. Alot of things have happen but I have support from classmates, instructor, and the Rue team. I know that having a schedule that I was accoutable for has helped me stick to a task. Setting my own hours and rate is the only way for me to complete this.

March 2, 2010 - Tanya Gutierrez Paramedic, Illinois
You could not find a better program than Rue Education. I am a Paramedic working full time and Rue Education is giving me the opportunity to go back to school to become an RN. The time, the help, the support you need is with Rue. If you think you have no other options while still working full time to go back to school, think again. I am taking 1 class at a time and I can't believe how interactive the program is. Thank you Rue for getting me back into school when I didn't think I could.

February 25, 2010 - Stephenie Mason LVN, Texas
Rue is fantastic, great information that helps you study exactly what you need. I've been an LVN for 16 years, and am a single mom working and trying to get done with my RN.  I only have 3 test to go and my clinicals, and have been working on this for less than a year. You can go at whatever pace you need to. This is the best way to go, especially if you have a life other than school. Advisors are there to help, it is not easy, but I know it will be totally worth it in the end.

February 23, 2010 - Kassie Conarreo LVN, Texas
I am a fairly new LVN. I graduated in August of 2008 and have been busy ever since. I am getting married May 8th and work full time, so going back to the RN program seemed impossible. That's why when I heard about Rue from a friend who is taking it, it sounded like the plan for me. I'm on week two and I have enjoyed being able to do the work on my own time. Thank you Rue and goodluck to everyone!

February 22, 2010 - Omi Holley LPN, Utah
I have taken 2 tests so far using Rue materials and have been VERY prepared for both. I recieved a B on the first one and then an A on Transitions to RN. I have been an LPN for 24 yrs. and I'm finally working on my RN. Rue is the only thing that has inspired me to get my ASN and they have been great at contacting me to check up on my progress. I am happy I chose this way to do it!!

February 22, 2010 - Michelle Gillie LPN, Michigan
Rue has been great.  Advisors reply on facebook to assist, and I also get phone calls. I was thrilled to get into the Rue Mentor Connection and to take advantage of the study guides and practice tests. Practice, practice practice! I appreciate everything that Rue has done to help build my confidence and to prepare me as I get ready to take my exam. The support system at Rue is great with lots of friendly people. I love the facebook support too!

February 20, 2010 - Christy Motes GN, Arkansas
Hello everyone, I have been an LPN for 5 years and doing the excelsior thing for 2-1/2 years. I just completed my CPNE the first weekend in February. I am soooo glad it is over. I am now waiting to take boards. I was a long rough journey, but well worth it. I had my CPNE at Grady Memorial Hospital in Altanta. They were great. I have met many wonderful people on the Rue Mentor Connection. This site has given me the addition push that I needed to complete this program.

February 20, 2010 - Jane Beecher GN, Pennsylvania
I've been an LPN for 20+ years and have had enough of the attitude towards LPNs. I started with Rue in 2005, but it took me a year to get up enough courage to take my first test. WOOOHOO.  I can say that it has changed my life in many ways. I passed the CPNE and am waiting to take the NCLEX. Don't think because you aren't fresh out of school that you can't do it. I am proof that you can!

February 19, 2010 - Jessica Grisel Paramedic, Texas
I practiced as an EMT/Paramedic for 6 years before moving to Austin, Texas with my boyfriend to be with his girls. After not initially being chosen for my prefered EMT job, I decided to work in an Emergency Room and go back to school. The Manager of my department went through Excelsior and suggested it. After some research, I joined Rue -- and what a difference it has made! I am now applying for my CPNE and almost done! I am so greatful to Rue for helping me organize my thoughts and making this possible. I could not have done it without them. I suggest them to everyone I know that is interested in doing the program because I know a few people that are not using Rue and are struggling a lot! Thanks again and keep working hard everyone!

February 19, 2010 - Aileen Boice GN, North Carolina
I graduated! I had to share my CPNE book with my friend just to show how you guys had it all set up for us to PASS! He could see all he needed was right there (in the Rue CPNE package) and he didn't need to take a workshop.  I finished in a few months using just your reference books and kept up a gpa to continue into a bridge MSN program! I did see material from another publisher and felt bad someone bought into that deal.  You guys really are the best! Thanks to Rue I am in the next phase of my career!

February 18, 2010 - Christy Davidson LPN, Florida
I just took my sociology CLEP exam and I was suprised at how "familiar" the questions were. I felt really prepared having studied the text supplied by Rue. Everyone from the receptionist to financial advisors and academic advisors really show me that they care about my success. I love that! I feel like more than a number, and that I really am taking my nursing classes in the right place. Keep up the good work!

February 18, 2010 - Rebekah Gilman LPN, Tennessee
So far I've passed 8 tests with the help of Rue's materials and I have to say I don't think I could have done it without the help and support I've recieved through the Mentor Connection and the academic advisors. I am currently studying for HDLS 2 and will have 3 more test after that, then on to CPNE :-)

February 18, 2010 - Tammie Kruse LPN, Michigan
I am the primary breadwinner of the family and I receive health benefits from my employer. I cannot afford to take the time off work for clinical. Rue has been a wonderful asset to help me obtain my ASN. I am on my 6th class with Rue and I know that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Without Rue, I don't know if I could have ever obtained my degree.

I have a few friends who signed up with another "educator" at the same time that I signed up with Rue. I am the only one who has passed any exams. Those same friends ask "what is so different about Rue?"  All I tell them is "they keep me on course and they are my cheerleaders!" I have a little way to go, but I know that Rue will be there for me.

February 10, 2010 - Jessica Buckley RN, Florida
I was able to complete my studies and earn my ASN, and RN using the materials provided by Rue. My mentors were fabulous and I stayed focused and met my classes, goals head on. I am very proud to say that my success has inspired many of the nurses I worked with to reach out and achieve their dreams too! It can be done and Rue can help! :)

February 9, 2010 - Jason Jonas Paramedic, Missouri
Doing my RN degree online through Rue has allowed me the flexibility to pursue a career goal. Being a father of 3 boys, a Husband, & full-time employee/student, I wouldn't be able to fulfill traditional course work demands. But with Rue, I can!

February 8, 2010 - Danielle Courtney LPN, Iowa
I have had a great 2 tests and have felt very prepared for both tests I have taken. I love the workbook and quick reference guide also, what a great help. Thanks Rue!

December 22, 2009 - Peggy Ramthum LPN, Missouri
I am into my second course online and love it. I passed my Lifespan Developmental Psych class test with a B and am almost ready to CLEP out of Basic Psych. Support from Rue and the professor has been marvelous! It's the best thing I've done for me (since marrying David 3 years ago) for a long time. Online learning is great! I'm 55 years old and am going to be an RN after 33 years as an LPN!! 2010 look out!

December 22, 2009 - Sharon Jones LPN, Florida
The educational products and support Rue provides have been a constant source of encouragement to me. I could not have completed this program without them.

December 17, 2009 - Dana Placker LVN, Texas
I am so glad I chose Rue to continue my education with. The support is great and they are EXTREMELY helpful! I feel so blessed to have this opportunity to get my RN when I am unable to attend college. Thank you Rue!

December 16, 2009 - Brian Driver Paramedic, Arizona
With Rue I have had the best educational experience I have ever had. The support, knowledge, courses, and material are all geared to teach what we need to know and help us perform. A generally awesome experience.

December 16, 2009 - Judee Harrington RT, New Mexico
I was so excited to find a program that would work with me to move from being a Registed Respiratory Therapist to being a Registered Nurse. This is such an exciting time for me and everyone at Rue has been so helpful and responsive.

December 16, 2009 - Tammy Breen Paramedic, Connecticut
I'm having a great experience with Rue.  I'm a paramedic and found Rue back in 2007. My advisor, Jeffrey Cox, is most kind and helpful! He helped me so much. I'm almost done - hopefully by the summer of 2010.  Thanks Rue - You made this accessible and affordable!

December 16, 2009 - Sandra Thompson LPN, North Carolina
Rue was able to finance my study materials which put less strain on my budget. I am able to work my full 12hr shift and study at my own pace. I have 4 exams left before becoming eligible for the FCCA and CPNE. Thanks to Rue for allowing me to pursue my dream of becoming an RN!

December 15, 2009 - Shayla Edwards LPN, Florida
I am getting ready to test out on two tests.  I am so excited because I only have three classess remaining. Rue has allowed me to take my time and study around my busy life. I am already an LPN and am working towards my RN and hopefully will have it in 2010. The Mentor Connection is the bomb. The people on there give you positive feedback and Tina gives the most awesome notes. God Bless you Rue crew!

December 15, 2009 - Hailey Walker LVN, Texas
Rue is an excellent way to learn and live.  You can still work while you study and the help is tremendous! I have been an LVN for 6 years and I will soon become an RN thanks to Rue!

December 15, 2009 - Sherl Smail LPN, Pennsylvania
I will become an RN thanks to Rue. They give me the ability to work both my full time and part time jobs and still have time to study when I can. As a single mother of 2 teenagers, they are a god sent. Thank you Rue.

December 15, 2009 - Kathy Benton RN, Pennsylvania
I signed up with Rue three years ago and started my goal to become an RN. Rue's materials and staff helped me realize my goal when I passed CPNE at York, PA. I met so many great friends on Mentor Connection and it helped me to know there were so many others doing the same thing I was. It was a long road but worth it! Thank you Rue!

December 15, 2009 - Lori Kline LPN, Pennsylvania
I love Rue and all the help they offer me. The academic advisors are very friendly. When you call in with a passing grade bells and whistles go off in the back ground (very unexpected). The addition of online classes is the best thing they have to offer. To really understand the material and make you use the information in a classroom type setting is very helpful. It's not just about memorizing or just know what you need to know to pass, you actually learnand can apply the knowledge! I am glad I chose Rue.

December 15, 2009 - Steve Carr LPN, Illinois
After 20 years as an LPN it has become evident that I now need my RN. As a travel nurse the traditonal classroom was not an option. Thankfully I found Rue online. Being able to work on my school independently utilizing the online classroom is great. What I was unprepared for was how much help the class facilitators and fellow students are. I'm half way there and can't wait to get finished.

December 15, 2009 - Debbie Welles LVN, Texas
This is my second class with Rue. I completed A&P and am now taking micro. I enjoy online classes as I can do the work at my own pace & in the comfort of my home (in my PJs) It is a wonderful program.

December 15, 2009 - Danielle Courtney LPN, Iowa
I am a new mom working full time as an LPN in a clinic, while taking classes at my own pace! I love it!

December 15, 2009 - Tami Sehon LPN, Florida
I am down to 2 courses remaining and couldn't have done it without Rue! The interactive method of coursework has kept me on task and given me feedback in the coursework necessary to be successful with each course. I have the benefit of discussing questions with other students and having feedback from the instructor which is invaluable. I have passed each exam without any difficulties and this is because of the highly structured approach with textbooks, workbooks, and other resource materials provided. It definitely fits into my busy lifestyle in helping me toward my goal of becoming an RN. Thank you Rue!

December 15, 2009 - Diamma Kern LPN, Ohio
I just passed Transitions this morning with the help of awesome materials from Rue and the wonderful Rue mentor connection! I joined Rue about a year and a half ago and it was the BEST thing I did! Only three more classes to go! Up until two months ago I was working an average of 45 hours a week and raising three young children, so it is definetly doable! Rue is there to help you succeed, they don't disappear once you get started!

December 15, 2009 - Stacie Wolff LPN, New Jersey
This is my second course with Rue. I passed A+P and now I'm doing Micro. It took me a long time to decide to go back to school, but Rue made it very easy. I like that you can go at your own pace and you're not tied to a classroom. Rue is especially important to me as the hospital where i have been an LPN for 32 years eliminated the LPN position. They gave me a job as a unit secretary but it is more important than ever that I complete my studies an become an RN.

December 14, 2009 - Angela H. LPN, Tennessee
This is the greatest oppurtunity in the world to obtain my RN. No going to "class", studying at my own pace and not feeling like a number as I would at a larger school. Online learning is great.

December 10, 2009 - Denise Messier LPN, Florida
I am about to start my 4th class towards LPN to RN with Rue. This is the perfect solution to the problem facing working people today! No need to sit in a classroom, but you have the availability of of instructors and reference material at your fingertips. Thank you, Rue!

December 10, 2009 - Sherry Sullivan LVN, Texas
When I decided to take the BIG step towards my RN (after being an LVN for 20 years), it was scary at first.  With the great staff at Rue, I am now on my 3rd class.  I have a wonderful advisor Erin and the instructors have been very educated in the subjects.

December 10, 2009 - Angie Stevenson RN, Minnesota
I was one of those that always wanted to be an RN. I when I was 10 years old I knew I wanted to be a Nurse. My grandmother used to tell everyone when she introduced me "this is my Grandaughter and she is going to be a Nurse when she grows up." I never quite made it to RN.  I worked in heathcare for 17 years, always working under the direction of an RN, but never being one myself. I always felt less than, and was made to feel like so many tasks that I was more than capable of were out of my scope of practice. This effected my professional self esteem incredibly and crossed over to my personal self esteem. After becoming modivated to complete my RN and being intent with Independent Study being the way I was going to do it, I enrolled in Rue and started. After I passed my first exam, I felt like.... wow!!! I can do this! Being an RN will be a reality for me. After modivating myself and completing the program, I look back on this as one of the best decisions that I have ever made. I was not easy, but it was soooo worth it ... and if I could do it, so can you.

December 9, 2009 - Elaine Durant LPN, Georgia
I've just started Rue! I now have to the opportunity to continue my education and still raise my family and keep my job!

December 9, 2009 - Jennifer Cole LPN, Ohio
The Rue Mentor Connection has helped a great deal when I need information and notes for tests. They're always there to answer any questions I may have.

December 9, 2009 - Tammie Kruse LPN, Michigan
I am so thankful to Rue. Not only am I able to work while completing my education, I will have my education paid off in 5 years with low monthly payments. The course facilitators are wonderful and are there to help you every step of the way. I have taken 5 classes and I feel comfortable when I walk into the testing center. I know that I am well prepared and I am so proud of myself with each class passed!

I have found that the cost is very comparable local community colleges. I felt very well prepared for the exams. I have taken 5 courses through Rue. I am about to test out of the 5th class. I love the flexibility. Look into it!

December 9, 2009 - Jenni Smith LPN, Ohio
Rue has allowed me to continue my education and further my career in Nursing! I am greatful for the help I have received from Rue.  I would be lost without them.

December 8, 2009 - Kelley Sacksteder GN, Ohio
I just graduated from EC--take boards in Jan. Without Rue I couldn't have done it. My advisor Jeff is great. He answered any and all of my questions. It has been quite a ride - 2 broken legs, one broken ankle, family illnesses, stress - you name it. Rue kept me going through all the madness at home and at my 2 jobs.  Again...I COULDN'T HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT RUE!!

December 8, 2009 - Jessica England RN, New York
Rue was very helpful regarding the financial aspect. I obtained loans through them to help pay for the their study guides and text books and to Excelsior for their fees too. Karen was a big help for others concerns. the study guides are great and helped me remembered info because I had to write it down and read it, not just read it. The text books are all the newsest editions. The mentor forum is wonderful too. Thanks Rue.

December 8, 2009 - Mark Barry LPN, Montana
Rue has been an excellent way to pursue higher level nursing education. I have been taking classes for about a year now, and the materials and study guides have been very helpful and challenging to say the least. If you are a nurse and are considering upping your education level, please consider Rue. They won't let you down or leave you on your own. Always have great support, and answers to all of my questions.

December 8, 2009 - Lisa Hokanson Ernst LVN, Texas
Thanks to Rue I have gotten through World Religions, Sociology, A&P and Dev Psych. I love the online tutoring expperience; it helps keep me focused and motivated. The variety of activities helps with the retention of material. Micro is next on schedule after hte holidays!

December 8, 2009 - Christy Motes LPN, Arkansas
Rue had enabled me to travel across the United States with my husband and still aquire a college education. I would not have been able to do this program without the support of the advisors. They keep you going. Mentor Connection is real people going through the same problems I was having with certain classes. They are a huge support group.

September 9, 2008 - Lori Caha RN, Nebraska

I started my journey in 2003. Rue allowed me to work at my own pace and study when I was able. There was so much support on the Mentor Connection. I took my NCLEX a week ago and am now waiting for my state to release my license! It has been a wonderful journey...at times difficult, but isn't something worth doing difficult at times?

September 8, 2008 - Kelly Clark LPN, Ohio
I never thought I would get accepted into LPN school let alone graduate as valedictorian of my class. I have always known that nursing is the love of my life, and I feel like for the first time in my life, I have found where I am supposed to be. I am so glad that Rue is out here and is enabling LPNs a way to continue their education in a manner that is suitable for them. I only hope that more of my friends get on board!

August 10, 2008 - Kimberly B. GN, Tennessee
Passed CPNE No Repeats!!!! The Rue Mentor Connection was great to help me get started. Keep pressing forward. Ever Upward!!! You can do it, too.

March 19, 2008 - Sandra Thompson LPN, North Carolina
I've passed Microbiology, NC 1, NC2 and now NC3!! I've been actively studying toward my nursing degree since 2006. I'm a divorced mother of a teenager and work full-time and part-time jobs! I also have a 91-year-old grandmother who depends on me during the day. Being able to study and test at my own pace is great.

December 13, 2007 - April Dahlke GN, New York
I am a GN awaiting to take my RN boards really soon. I graduated in November of this year with an awesome GPA. I did ALL of my study prep through Rue study guides and practice exams. What an AWESOME package they provide! Having had my LPN for 13 years was certainly a really big help. I was able to stay focused and self-discipline myself very easily in this program (even after a major brain surgery in 2005). If you want it bad enough...that RN title after your name...then this is the way to go! I will always be thankful for Rue materials and support, and for Excelsior College in making my degree possible. Good luck to you all! Your dreams can come true!

November 8, 2007 - Liz Naftaniel LPN, Florida
I passed my NCLEX on September 29, 2007 after taking all 16 tests and the CPNE. I started my studies in 2003 and after 17 years as an LPN I can now write RN after my name. This takes hard work and it is not easy...worth it? Oh yes! There is no feeling like having your dream come true. Tina and the Rue forum family are an incredible network of support. The forum is as much a real family as it gets. They won't LET YOU fail!!!!  I would do this over again in a hearbeat and would recommend Rue without hesitation.

November 5, 2007 - Veronica Bankston LPN, New Jersey
I am having a great time with the online system that I'm taking, Human Development. The online system really gives me the push I need to get ahead in the RN program and work full time. Doing both is not easy, but the online system makes it easier to study. Having a tutor there for me and other nursing students to chat with is nice. Words cannot express the joy I have knowing I'm getting the help I need. Everyone should try an online learning system, it’s really been great!

September 27, 2007 - Jacki Wright RN, Connecticut

I took my NCLEX exam and yes I did PASS. I do have to say that when the screen turned blue after 75 questions I was overwhelmed and confused. That was the shortest exam since the beginning of this "ride" and I truly felt uneasy for days until I could find out my pass/fail status. Well I now have a beautiful RN license number here in Connecticut and I write those 2 little initials very big on everything that I sign.

This is not an easy way to fulfill your desire to become an RN but it is very doable with dedication, hard work, sacrifice, and a vision to become the RN that you want to be. I know there are some out there who might think that this is the "easy" way to get your education. All of you can do it! Just do one learning system, one day at a time and you will get through. Good Luck to all.

September 12, 2007 - Cathleen Schneider RN, Florida

After practicing as an LPN for 27 years, I am finally an RN. I could not have done it any other way. Family and commitment to my job just would not allow the traditional program to work. Rue has helped me to achieve what I once thought unachievable. The Mentor Connection offers great support, information and advice. It's all worth it.

May 2, 2007 - Aimey Bonanno LPN, Florida
I still have to complete the CPNE, but I know a lot of people starting this program ask, "How long will it take me?"  I know it was one of the first things I asked when I called Rue.  I have no prior college credits, so I had to take 9 general education plus the 6 nursing.  I had a goal of getting them all completed in a years time and apply to the CPNE.  Because of Rue and the Mentor Connection, I did what I thought was impossible.  I completed all of the nursing and 7 of the 9 general education learning systems in less than 6 months, making me eligible to apply to the CPNE 6 months ahead of schedule.

For anyone that wants to know, "Can you get through this program quickly?" or "Does Rue have the tools and resources you need?", I can tell you, "yes you can and yes you will find all you need at Rue."  It was not easy at times.  You have to be very motivated and self discipline is crucial.  It took me a test or two to master that.  It helped that I was fortunate that I did not have to work while I was going through this program, but I truly believe that if you want it bad enough with your motivation and dedication and with Rue's resources and mentor site, anyone can get there.

For anyone thinking of signing up or whose journey is already underway, just remember it doesn't matter how long it takes you to get there.  You go at the pace that life will allow you at the time.  The point isn't when you get there anyway, it's that you get there and you cherish the things you learned along the way.  You can utilize them in your life and profession.  Believe in yourself.  You can do this!

December 4, 2006 - Bruce Staten LPN, Florida
I have been an LPN for 10 years. After months of research into the best at-home studies for my RN, I chose Rue Education. I started studying on my first subject of Nusing Concepts 1.  In just over a month studying, I took my exam a few days ago and earned a B. The study materials provided by Rue were exceptional and right on target. There were no questions on the entire exam that I was not familiar with. I recommend Rue to anyone who is serious about becoming an RN and having the flexibilty to study when you want and take the test when you're ready.  Instead of sitting in traditional college classes for 3 months to get credit for the subject, I did it in just a little over a month. Thank you Rue! I cannot wait until my next learning system.

November 23, 2006 - Angie Stevenson RN, Minnesota

Thanks to Rue and the home study option, I am now living my dream as an Operating Room Circulating and Scrub Nurse after working for 17 years under the direction of an RN in the operating room, I am now working as one. It was so worth the long nights, sacrifices, and heartships for the great reward and satisfaction of proving to myself that I was good enough and smart enough to attain my RN degree. I am now going on for my BSN and finding that to be just as rewarding. I really encourage everyone that may be wondering whether or not to continue their education and become an RN to not wait. Start studying and take your tests little by little if you have to. If I did it you can too!

Thank you for taking the time to share your success story and help inspire other healthcare professionals looking to move from LPN to RN, LVN to RN, Paramedic to RN, or Respiratory Therapist to RN.
